The Fenghwa Surprise was first released in September 1948. It's the first ballpoint pen in China, made by Fine Articles Factory (the predecessor of Fenghwa Ballpoint Pen Factory). All parts of the pen except the tip's ball was made in China.
This pen imitates Eversharp Kimberly in appearance. It has no clip, a gold-colored metal section of the cap visually separating the cap's tip and the main body of the pen.
