Description[edit]

This project was launched by Studio Neat and is their first design of a pen (previously they had created the Cosmonaut stylus for touch-screen devices). This is not their first stationery-related product, as they had campaigned for the Panobook notebook in 2017.

The pen is a metal-machined, minimalist pen with a click-action knock. The pen was designed around the Schmidt P8126 rollerball refill, with a custom, all-metal click mechanism[1]. Although initially offered in only two color options (black with nickel-plated nock; white with copper), due to overwhelming demand the customization was expanded. Midway through the campaign, it was announced that either metal for the nock on either pen would be allowed, a total 4 possible combinations[2].

The campaign surpassed the intended goal of $30,000 on the first day, with more than $50,000 by 5 p.m. EST.[3] Studio Neat tweeted that this was their 'most successful single day of funding, ever'[4], after breaking the goal in under 2 hours.[5]

On March 22, the campaign passed $100,000 by 2:30 p.m. EST; and passed $200,00 by 4:15 p.m. EST on May 2. The campaign finished as Studio Neats' most funded campaign, on May 5[6].
