#1 claim[edit]
I think the #1 claim needs some qualification and clarification. I note the Pentel UK and USA websites state something about it being #1, but Pentel Japan discontinued it many years ago presumably due to poor sales. KDMP (talk) 08:27, 8 July 2018 (CEST)
- I agree. This sounds like a typical marketing claim to me. I am sure it is #1 when measured in one or more ways, but it would be good to know based on what it is #1 and to have a reference. --Memm (talk) 22:48, 8 July 2018 (CEST)
Name of series[edit]
I think the P20x series has different numbers depending on lead diameter, e.g. 5 for 0.5, 7 for 0.7.. Is there an official name for the P20x series? If so that might be a better name for this article. --Memm (talk) 22:48, 8 July 2018 (CEST)
- Pentel seem to resist using model numbers even though they have them and print them on their pencils. This one is simply the "SharpTM", and is generally refered to as the P200 series or P20X series as its model numbers are all P20X with X being 3, 5,7 or 9 for lead size 0.3mm, 0.5mm, etc. So the current title of this page "Pentel P205" is incompatible with its text saying it is available in 0.3mm, 0.5mm etc lead.KDMP (talk) 08:08, 13 July 2018 (CEST)
- Hmmm, further research shows several English language country specific Pentel websites do use model numbers and call it the P200. Again they are inconsistent in their naming, some not using the name Sharp either, just calling it the P200 Series. Also some offer the P203 and others do not. All seem to offer P205/7/9.KDMP (talk) 08:29, 13 July 2018 (CEST)
I guess only an Admin can change the name of the page? Suggest Pentel P200 SharpKDMP (talk) 08:32, 13 July 2018 (CEST)
- I think it has to be Pentel P200 Sharp or Pentel Sharp P200. Then other Pentel pencils will have to follow the same style - name or number first. I checked a few Pentel sites and they seem to be standardised on name first then number, e.g. Pentel Fiesta AX105, Pentel GraphGear 1000 PG1015. The problem is no one uses name and number for the P200 and a couple of others. They use P200 or Sharp but not both. I vote Pentel Sharp P200 to maintain consistency with other name/number models.KDMP (talk) 21:03, 13 July 2018 (CEST)
Discontinued in Japan[edit]
Need year of discontinuation in Japan. I have put c2009 in article as a filler. I know it was discontinued before early 2010.KDMP (talk) 08:35, 13 July 2018 (CEST)
