Goldfink was a German manufacturer of fountain pens that operated from the 1910s to the 1960s. Founded by Albert Fink in Berlin, the company was known for producing high-quality pens, often comparable to brands like Montblanc. Goldfink produced a range of models, including safety fillers, button fillers, and piston fillers.   Items from the premium gold and silver collection hold particular value among collectors. In contrast, the writing instruments from the "Walzgold" edition were more common, offering a less expensive alternative to the exquisite gold and silver models. Today, the rare Goldfink products sometimes fetch prices of several hundred euros in the antiques market.

Goldfink was solely a stationery business that originated from the Gold Fink company (a business focused on buying and selling gold). The company never manufactured its own writing instruments. Initially, the pens were sourced from Columbus in Fürth, and later from Melbi in the Odenwald. The metal pens came from Fend in Pforzheim.

During the 1930s, Berlin’s status as the capital of the Reich contributed to thriving sales on one of the city’s main shopping streets, leading to the opening of additional branches. However, after World War II, Berlin lost its role as a central economic and administrative hub, and the Goldfink company ultimately lost its prominence as a leading stationery retailer.

While they had their own brand, Goldfink often contracted production to other pen makers. The company experienced a decline after World War II and eventually ceased operations.

Modern Revival

In recent years, there has been a renewed interest in vintage Goldfink pens among collectors. The Goldfink brand has been revived, with a focus on producing handcrafted pens in the style of vintage models. This new company, often referred to as "Goldfink Berlin," aims to capture the essence of the original brand while offering modern craftsmanship and design.
