Finial

Finial is the term for end caps of a pen, when made and attached to barrel and cap separately. Finials are typically made from the same material as the main body, but can vary in colour for aesthetic purposes. Frequently cap finial will have a company logo (e.g. Sailor's anchor), or an emblem for limited edition series.

Pen barrel of a fountain pen with a finial may indicate that this pen is not suitable for converting into eye-dropper.
