Eraser[edit]
An eraser is a tool used to remove pencil marks from paper. It is usually made of rubber or plastic and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Erasers can be used to erase both graphite and lead marks.
History[edit]
The first erasers were made of natural rubber and were invented in the 18th century. The first synthetic rubber eraser was invented in the 19th century.
Types[edit]
There are many different types of erasers available, including:
- Ballpoint erasers are small, round erasers that are perfect for erasing small mistakes.
- Block erasers are larger erasers that are perfect for erasing larger areas.
- Kneaded erasers are soft, pliable erasers that can be used to erase lightly or to create highlights.
- Magic erasers are erasers that can erase marks from a variety of surfaces, including paper, plastic, and metal.
How to use[edit]
To use an eraser, simply rub it against the pencil mark that you want to erase. The eraser will absorb the graphite or lead from the paper, leaving a clean surface.
Care[edit]
Erasers should be cleaned regularly to prevent them from getting dirty and ineffective. To clean an eraser, simply rub it against a piece of paper or cloth.
