The design that would become the Classic Lacquer Tornado first appeared in the 1999 catalog with 7 colors. In 2002 there were 9 colors. When the 2000 and 2001 catalogs come on-line, this information can be updated.

In 2004 they were listed as Classic Rollerball along with 3 colors later called softtouch lacquer.

In 2005 10 colors were listed as Classic Lacquers. This was the first official use of the term Classic Lacquer.

Changed Colors

In 2014, VRR-1318 retained the name Ice Blue but was reformulated to a darker shade. It went from a sky blue to a steel blue.

In 2017, VRR-1307 changed names from Blue to True Blue along with changing the shade of blue. The original Blue leaned a little bit to purple while True Blue lives up to the name.

New Colors

In 2010, two new colors, Purple and Ice Blue, were introduced. They have remained in the catalog since then. In 2011, a White Lacquer model was introduced but only lasted one year.
