Andy Welfle (born February 20, 1983 in Fort Wayne, Indiana) is an American blogger, podcaster, and content strategist.

Early life and education[edit]

Welfle graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2006, where he studied English. He started the pencil and stationary focused Woodclinched.com in 2010. He was a contributor to PencilThings.com, and one of his articles originally published in September 2007 on that site "A realist’s review of the legendary Blackwing 602" was shared by sites such as BoingBoing and garnered over 10,000 page views.

Career[edit]

Woodclinched[edit]

Welfle published the first article to Woodclinched.com on September 9, 2010, titled "Economics of pencils". The site is regularly updated with product reviews on both pencils and other stationary related topics, as well as editorial pieces.

Erasable Podcast[edit]

In 2014, Welfle alongside Johnny Gamber and Tim Wasem started the Erasable Podcast, focused on pencils and other analog tools.

Welfle moved to San Francisco, California in 2014 and started working as a content strategist at Facebook. In 2017, he left Facebook and joined Adobe as a Senior Content Strategist.
