== Pelikan Pens == '''Brad Dowdy:''' Awesome. Thank you, Squarespace. All right. So a friend of the show, Joshua from The Pelican's Purge, who obviously focuses on Pelicans, released a bunch of new information about what Pelican is planning for 2016. I love seeing these highly specific blogs in our community. Don't you, Myke? Like, you know, we have a lot of Field Note-specific blogs. We have several Pelican-specific blogs. '''Myke Hurley:''' Find your niche in the niche, my friends. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah, it's crazy. It's awesome to see. I learned so much from this because, you know, we can't keep up with all this stuff. But having, you know, core sites to go to to find out about all these things is awesome. And the first thing that caught my eye before I did a little bit more digging that Joshua posted was the new M805 in vibrant blue. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah. Talk about catch your eye. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Jeez Louise, this is so pretty. I know. They, the 805 is my favorite size. I've tried them all now. The 805 is the best size for me. I use the 6 the most. I don't know why. It just seems, I use them all. But the 805 is just a killer size. And it's very expensive. But this blue just pops off the page. It's got the silver furniture. The blue is kind of marbly, but it's kind of translucent at the same time. It's kind of, kind of sick looking. I don't know, like sick in a good way. I got to see this in person. The pictures are stunning. You know, I never bought the 605 last year. That was the demonstrator blue. I think they called it marine. Aquamarine. I always wanted that pin. I just never got around to making it happen in the budget. But this is one I'm going to want to see. And see if it gets added to the flock of pelicans that I already have. So you can read all about that on Joshua's site. And then he dropped, like right after that, the ink of the year is Aquamarine. This is going to be pretty nice as well. So it seems like, I don't know if time's just going by faster or what. But it seems like we just got the purple, the amethyst from the Pelican, you know, this past year. Where they did the amethyst demonstrator 205. And the special edition ink, of course. And this year is going to be Aquamarine. So hopefully they do the same kind of things with the pin in the 205 series. '''Brad Dowdy:''' I don't know. What do you think about this color? '''Myke Hurley:''' Looks great. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah. I think it's going to be good. I mean, I like that blue green. '''Myke Hurley:''' It would be nice to see it on some paper. Yeah, for sure. But in the bottle, it looks great. Do you know where the Edelstein name comes from? '''Brad Dowdy:''' Don't, exactly. I don't. I've looked it up before, but I can't remember. Okay. Well, okay. Well, like in Josh's thing, it says it's the German word for gemstone. And all of their things are rounded gemstone. Okay. Everything in the Edelstein lineup. Sapphire, topaz, aquamarine, tanzanite. And it's all the gemstones. So, yes, that makes sense now. Yeah. Totally does. So, if they match a pin with this, that's going to be pretty awesome looking. Just like I think the Amethyst came out wonderful. So, on top of those things, I found an older post that Josh did, what to expect in 2016 from Pelican. You can learn so much from Joshua's post. So, he goes through what he thinks is going to happen for Pelican. And then what's already been announced. He's got some confirms and some rumors. It's a really good read to kind of figure out, you know, get some ideas for what's coming. Last year's lineup was really great. The Stressman, the Cafe Crim, the Demonstrator. I never got the orange. What did they call the orange one? Let's see. M800 Burnt Orange. I would probably still be in the market for one of those. It's expensive. The 800 is a very expensive pin. And you can't own too many 800s because you'll be broke. Because the Stressman was an 800 as well. 800 series pin. And I never got that one. The Burnt Orange is really good looking. It's got the brown and orange with the gold trim. I would actually, I'm good with the gold trim on that. So, yeah, it's cool. Check out his blog. Because if you're into this kind of thing, it's kind of neat to see how Pelican is such a huge company. They have fans like this that can, like, dig into the rumors and hunt these things down, you know, for all of us that don't have time to. And really dig in. And it's kind of cool to read. It's like Apple rumors, right? In our own little world. It's pretty fun. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah, I like it. It's, I didn't really know that this existed. But of course it does. But it's funny that, I don't know if we've ever really come across so many rumor things in one go before. '''Brad Dowdy:''' I know, I know. I guess it's getting to the end of the year and everyone's planning and releasing things for 2016. So. '''Brad Dowdy:''' All right, Michael. Yeah. Do you have anything else for this episode? Because I want to wrap this up in a story. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah, I was thinking we should maybe take this in turns, take a verse each of this. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Okay. What do you think? I know I need a drink before I start. There you go. '''Myke Hurley:''' So then we give ourselves a break. Because ladies and gentlemen, settle in here. We've got quite a way to end this week's episode. '''Brad Dowdy:''' It's going to take a while. So get your coffee, get your eggnog, get your beers, get your in-your-bed beers, wherever you're at. I'm going to take a swig here because this is long. '''Myke Hurley:''' Mm-hmm. Me too. Let's get prepared here. '''Brad Dowdy:''' All right. So I'm going to start it and we'll take every other. '''Myke Hurley:''' Do we want to say where it came from? '''Brad Dowdy:''' Oh, yeah, for sure. So a gentleman named David sent this to us, sent it to me and Myke as a thank you. And he wrote this story based on the traditional Christmas story, Twas the Night Before Christmas. '''Brad Dowdy:''' And what he did was pretty amazing. And we just have to share this with the community. We'll have to ask him. We're not publishing this because I want his approval before we do so. But if he gives us the word, we'll send a link. We'll add a link to the show notes just so where you can go read it afterwards. But it's really, really great. So let's do this, Myke, and tell everyone, you know, have a Merry Christmas. And David, thank you so much for doing this. '''Myke Hurley:''' I've read through this and I'm looking forward to the dubious rhymes. Yeah.
