== Field Notes Notebooks == '''Brad Dowdy:''' That might be blasphemous. But it may just be the newness of it. You know, that it's, oh, hey, new shiny thing. But just from a use perspective, I love this edition because I love the grid line, the orange, yellow grid line. That really makes a difference for me. And I'm a huge, huge fan of that. So this, I might, we'll see. I mean, time will tell. I mean, it's too early. But that's what I'm feeling so far. But I will, I'm willing to admit that it might just be the newness factor that's got me all pumped up about it. But right now, I think I will personally like it better than Night Sky. Although I think in the end, I think most people would, in the grand scheme of things like that, it's hard to miss that black cover of the Night Sky. They did a really good job on that. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah, but when I saw these ones, I thought, well, this could be my favorite. So we'll see. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah. Yeah, we'll see. As I get used in them and see, I will see. I have a feeling that there's a chance I'm going to, this one's going to rank pretty high, I think, in my rankings. And did you watch the 30-second spot online? You know how they usually do a film or whatever? '''Myke Hurley:''' Yep, I did. '''Brad Dowdy:''' For each edition. This one, they did a 30-second spot, which is kind of like a beer commercial. And for those who haven't heard Jim Kudol talk, that's him doing the voiceover for the commercial. It's pretty hilarious. And it's not meant to be. It's like a dead serious commercial. But you can tell Jim's like, he's doing like his commercial voice. Yeah. For like a fancy beer commercial. Yeah, it's interesting. I cracked up. '''Myke Hurley:''' I liked it a lot. I like that they did that as a commercial instead of just like their usual like abstract video that they do. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah, it fits in with the whole theme. I mean, it's like perfect. And the six-pack and the coasters. I actually, I ordered a couple extra notebooks as well. And I went ahead and ordered coasters because I'm actually, I'm a coaster guy to begin with. I use coasters. So, you know, I've got, I've got a drink here as we're podcasting sitting on a coaster. And, you know, I have a coaster at work. I don't know. I don't know why coasters are just a thing for me. So, I ordered extra coasters too. So, you can not only just order the extra three packs of the books. You have to order the ales separately from the loggers, right? You get a three-pack of ales or a three-pack of loggers or one of each. And then you can get a coaster set. The coaster set, you get four coasters, two ales, two loggers. And that's only $3.95. So, as always, Field Notes is doing it right. '''Myke Hurley:''' That's how they do. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yep. So, I'm excited for you to get yours in. I'm interested to see what you think about this. And I'm interested to start getting them in the rotation and see how the covers hold up. I think they're going to do pretty well. But we'll see. '''Myke Hurley:''' Anything else? '''Brad Dowdy:''' I mostly enjoy the, no, no. I was just going to say I mostly enjoy the grid lines. That's going to be a huge deal for me. So, yeah. No, that's all on that front. So, I think general consensus was this was a hit. '''Myke Hurley:''' Good stuff. '''Brad Dowdy:''' In the Field Notes realm. '''Brad Dowdy:''' And, honestly, how could it not be? Even people that say, I actually, when it came out, I was like, ooh, I wonder if some people who, you know, don't drink or whatever are going to take offense to this. And they're like, most of the comments I was reading was, I don't drink, but this is fantastic looking. And, you know, I'm all over it. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah, they still look good whether you're a drinker or not.
