== Fountain Pen Gift Choice == '''Brad Dowdy:''' Kimberly. Kimberly asks if you and Myke each had to give away one fountain pen in your current collection to a dear friend who you're trying to convert to the rabbit hole. Which pen would it be? I picked the Sailor 1911 Royal Tangerine. I feel that even if the person wasn't a fountain pen user at all. They could appreciate what that pen is. If they were a fountain pen user but just on the very basic entry level. Not a lot of experience with it. I think a pen like this would knock their socks off just in the feel and quality of it. Not to mention that the style just pops. Like this pen says a lot without doing anything. And I think it's kind of like my main conversion pen. Even though it's pretty expensive. Like I wouldn't, you know, it'd be hard to do something, you know, like that was being price conscious about this question. That wasn't one of the parameters here. So I went with the 1911 Royal Tangerine. I think it's just kind of all around perfect to giving someone to convert. Do you have one that you can think of? '''Myke Hurley:''' A regular pro gear. '''Myke Hurley:''' Mm-hmm. I love the Tangerine. I think the size of the Tangerine would be a little daunting for a lot of people. Now mine's the small one, not the big one. Even then. Are you saying that? There's a perspective thing about the 1911 that I think. Agree. Isn't right where I think that the pro gear might be. You know, like a regular pro gear, not a slim. I think that it's thick enough that people will be able to hold it comfortably. Hopefully, that's probably what I would go with, even though it would kill me to give away my first ever sailor pen. That's probably the one that I would be most likely to do because I'm pretty convinced that it would excite a lot of people. Thinking about it, though, like there, you know, something like TWSBI Go could work quite interestingly because it's a weird fun pen, which might intrigue someone. But of course, you know, I know we're talking about fountain pens, but for me, it's always a retro 51. Like if I want to, somebody who's like, they're not sure if they're going to like the thing, I give them a retro 51. And more often than not, it's like, uh-huh, kind of feeling. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah. Yeah. It's weird how many times that's happened. Yeah. Which is, you know, it's a testament to why we like it so much. All right, I'm remembering some of these questions now, Myke, that we saved for last episode, and we're now into the fun section of the previous Ask TPA. So this one's from Evgeny. If you and Myke were transformed for scientific purposes into either a pen or an animal, what would you be and why? '''Myke Hurley:''' You know how I sometimes have like just fundamental issues with the questions? Mm-hmm. This is one of those. Mm-hmm. It's two different questions. There is no like, surely who's picking a pen? '''Myke Hurley:''' Right? '''Brad Dowdy:''' You'd be an animal at least. Well, if we could pick a pen, what would we be? And if we picked an animal, what would we be? I don't know. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah, you see, that I'm more on board with, right? As a thing. '''Brad Dowdy:''' But yeah, I'd totally pick an animal. Over being a pen. Over being a pen. And what animal would I be? I would be a lion. Mm, that's a good one. I think I would be probably like a koala. They're pretty chill. That's good, too. That's good, too. They just like hang out, eat. '''Myke Hurley:''' The thing is, though, like lions are chill. People don't think lions are chill. That's true. '''Brad Dowdy:''' But lions are chill. I don't know why I'm thinking like, I don't know why I'm stuck on these Australian animals. Because my other choice was like a kangaroo. It's like, it'd be kind of cool to just like hop like a maniac. And you kind of got this pouch to carry stuff in. It's like, I can keep all my pens in my kangaroo pouch. That would be dope.
