== Pen Issue Described == '''Adina Hurley:''' Oh, '''Myke Hurley:''' but I'm not finding '''Brad Dowdy:''' the humor. '''Adina Hurley:''' But I don't know how you worked it out because you called me in to say that something's not right. '''Myke Hurley:''' I immediately knew. '''Adina Hurley:''' Because something's not right with this and when I was in here I could hear a piece of metal dropping onto the paper and then we tried to find it. this, '''Myke Hurley:''' this piece of tipping is in my office somewhere. '''Adina Hurley:''' But we couldn't find it. '''Myke Hurley:''' Oh. I felt it happen, right? Like, I felt like, so the piece is lost. That's, that's like a whole other problem. I don't know if that makes it more of a problem or whatever but the piece is lost. So, it was heartbreaking. It broke off somewhere. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah, so you need to get this taken care of primarily because this is a unique nib design for this model of pen, right? It's got extra like scroll work on the nib. It's not the same nib etching as your, that's the normal platinum nib so swapping out like a different gold nib into this is not going to give it the same, you know, effect. Yeah, so we, we will be expecting follow up. This is gonna be, I'm sure. This is gonna be a thing. '''Myke Hurley:''' A long standing story. '''Brad Dowdy:''' But I'm upset for you. Exactly. '''Myke Hurley:''' I am trying to, or the other thing is that it's an 18 carat nib and I don't have an 18 carat nib now, right? Like it's, you know, it's not only that, it's also like a more expensive nib anyway, right? So, I don't know what the resolution to this is gonna be. I know what I want it to be. But I am trying to just like not worry about it for now. Like, cause I'm, I love the broad nib that was in my, nicely less. It's one of my favorite pens. So, giving it a home upgrade for a little bit is not the worst thing that's happened to me. But, I do expect, basically, I will be really annoyed if we do not come to some kind of resolution. Like where we are right now is like, okay, we're just gonna wait and see how the distributor is gonna fix this, not if, right? And then, then I'll start to get different types of feelings. But where I am right now is like, all right, this is where we are, right? Like the pen, the original nib is broken. I can still use the pen. So, we'll see. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah. So, you weigh under sold the show notes. It just says, Myke has a story. And like, I'm about to like, come through the computer at them if they don't fix this. Like, I'm super upset for you. I'm on Adina's team on this one. Like, I'm starting to call people like, we're getting this fixed. Right, Adina? '''Adina Hurley:''' Yep, yep. I love doing this sort of stuff. I don't know. It feels like I'm 70 in my heart, but I love complaining to companies and getting what's mine. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah, if anybody is going to fix it, she'll fix it. it's like, '''Brad Dowdy:''' you know. And this is a, this is a technical flaw in the manufacture of that nib. So, hopefully, it'll be pretty straightforward, but you never know, right? You just, you just never know what you're going to get. '''Adina Hurley:''' Yeah. '''Myke Hurley:''' Wow. So, yeah, that is where I am. I'm going to be bringing the pen with me so you can see it in its current state. Yeah, I need a drink. It is. Golly, that stressed me out. It's so beautiful, though. I love it so much. '''Brad Dowdy:''' I don't think I've actually, I don't think I've seen that model in person, so yes, I would like to see it. '''Myke Hurley:''' This is it, right? I saw it and I was like, I have no idea this pen even existed. Like, and I feel like it's a pen that I should have known existed. Because it's so up my street. This, for me, like, genuinely, this excites me more than a lot of Nakayas that I've seen, which it should for the price. I mean, it's effectively the same in some instances, but, and like, you know, a lot of the technique is here, right? Like, it's an Arushi pen and it's got this beautiful, like, signature on it as well, which I love. And, yeah, I'm into it big time.
