== Jetstream == '''Myke Hurley:''' I've just never been that impressed by the Jetstream. Like I've never really got it. You know, people who listen to the show for years will know that. It's fine. It's fine. But I just don't think it's as good as the attention it gets. Yeah. In my opinion. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Well, when you compare that to other ballpoints is where it becomes a thing. Right? It's so superior to pretty much every ballpoint out there except the Acroball. '''Brad Dowdy:''' That's why it takes four of these top five spots. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Right? It's just a better writing experience. But if you're not into ballpoints, you would have no reason to use it. And you probably wouldn't enjoy it. So the Outlier comes in at number three. And it's the Oto G-Fit Barrel ballpoint. Which I reviewed this pen. '''Myke Hurley:''' Where did this come from? '''Brad Dowdy:''' I don't know. It's random. And it's even out of stock. This is actually a really good pen. For the price. It's $650. So it's a little above that tier. But it's still. I consider that in the cheap range. Almost disposable. But it's got a little bit nicer barrel. I think the reason why it's on that list is because it's 0.5 millimeter. Right? You don't get a lot of 0.5 millimeter ballpoints. That's kind of a random thing. And that pen actually works well. I remember reviewed it. I reviewed it well. I enjoyed writing with it. But it's not going to beat a 0.5 millimeter Jetstream any day. And the 0.7 Jetstream is the one I recommend the most. '''Brad Dowdy:''' As weird as the ballpoint list is. The liquid ink list. Or rollerball. Is a complete wreck. Then this just goes to show you what the market looks like right now. '''Brad Dowdy:''' It's either Morning Glory. Mach 3 rollerball. Which is a wonderful pen. Or nothing. This is based on Jetpens. '''Brad Dowdy:''' So. I even stopped the list after four. Because it took me to the second page. And there's. The default is. It lists 24 pens on the page. I had to go to the second page. To even find a fifth one. I didn't even bother. And the fourth one on this list. Is the Otofude Ball Liquid Ink Rollerball Pen. It's 1.5 millimeters. So people aren't buying this. To do normal things with. They're buying this for drawing or artwork. So I don't even consider that. The Morning Glory Mach 3. It's a needlepoint liquid ink pen. 0.38 millimeters. It's fantastic. I love, love, love this pen. After this. I hate the name though. It's a weird name. I will give you that. I will give you that. It's a weird name. But after this. What I really consider. In the liquid ink category. Is the Pilot Precise Line. V5, V7, VBall. All those are really good pens. The Uniball Vision Elite. Is a really good liquid ink pen. The Uniball Vision. Is a horrible pen. That you should never buy. It's very different. Than the Vision Elite. So. You know. There's not a lot. The liquid ink pens. Have kind of got lost. In the shuffle. Because gel. Is superior. In almost every way. So there's not a lot of call. For the liquid ink pens. Ballpoint pens. People have a reason. To use them. Other than gel. Roller balls. They really kind of. Got. Usurped. By the whole. Gel ink pen. And there's just not a call. For them anymore. Because. In most situations. You can get a gel. That performs as well. Or better. And has more options. Than any liquid ink pen. So that's why you see. The lack of variety. In these roller ball pens. So. '''Brad Dowdy:''' So that's that. So this. This makes me. Want to go. Rework my top five. Which I keep saying. I'm going to do. I need to do it soon. Because. This is a pretty weird list. The roller balls. Are not very useful. I mean. And granted. We're limiting to this. To what's on jet pens. But I kind of did that. On purpose. Because. That's what the market's. Dictating right now. Yeah. '''Myke Hurley:''' So. They're probably the biggest. Distributor of these things online. Right. These types of pens. '''Brad Dowdy:''' And it's easy to tell. What what's popular. Just by the way. They set up their site. You know. Which is a good thing. So. I wanted to kind of. Take a snapshot of that. And. You know. I don't know that they changed that much. I know. Like I said. That white gel ink pen. I think as long as I've known about jet pens. That's been the number one seller. It's insane. '''Myke Hurley:''' Well. Here's the thing about that list. Is it is. Like a self prophecy. Yeah. Right. Because people just hit that page. And look what's there. And then they buy it. So. The things that are popular. Will remain popular. The rich gets richer. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Right. And that's why. It's funny when you see things pop up. Like the Oto G fit barrel ballpoint. You know. That kind of broke. Broke the jet stream. Streak there. So. You know. But. The one that does change a lot. Is the fountain pen page. Right. There's a lot of variance in that page. '''Myke Hurley:''' Yeah. But I think that's external forces. Making that change. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah. Yeah. I mean. You'll see the. The metropolitan. And a bunch of the Kveikos. But. Then you'll get the vanishing points. Pop up there. When there's new ones. And things like that. So. You know. It's pretty cool. But yeah. Like. That's why it's hard. You know. When we talk about top five. Pens that aren't fountain pens. There's not a lot of change. Right.
