Editing Shigesato Itoi (section)

==Video games==
Shigesato Itoi was the creator of the ''EarthBound (series)|Mother'' series. In Mother, he was lead designer, writer and director; on Earthbound, Itoi was producer, director and writer while in Mother 3, Itoi was the writer of the story.

Itoi claims that the final battle of ''EarthBound'' was inspired from his accidental childhood viewing of the Shintoho film titled ''The Military Policeman and the Dismembered Beauty''. Specifically, the scene that inspired the battle was a scene depicting a woman being murdered. <ref name="1101.com"/><ref>{{cite web|first=Clyde|last=Mandelin|title=The Scene that Inspired Giygas|url=http://earthboundcentral.com/2009/01/the-scene-that-inspired-giygas/|publisher=Earthbound Central|date=20 January 2009|accessdate=2009-07-21}}</ref>

Itoi has repeatedly explained that he would not be involved in a fourth title of the series.<ref>http://www.polygon.com/2013/4/30/4285438/earthbound-creator-says-new-series-installment-is-impossible</ref> Itoi’s works has had a impact on other games and other media, including Undertale<ref>{{Cite news|url=https://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124536-Undertale-is-an-EarthBound-Inspired-Indie-RPG|title=Undertale is an EarthBound Inspired Indie RPG|work=The Escapist|access-date=2018-10-26|language=en-US}}</ref>, Lisa:The Painful<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://www.giantbomb.com/forums/lisa-676023/lisa-is-an-ma-rated-earthbound-and-it-s-pretty-rad-1503216/|title=LISA is an MA-rated Earthbound and it's pretty rad - Lisa - Giant Bomb|website=Giant Bomb|language=en|access-date=2018-10-26}}</ref>, Yume Nikki|Yume Nikki<ref>{{Cite web|url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/650700/discussions/0/1635237606654127278/|title=Earthbound, Yume Nikki, and Undertale are all compared to each other.
