== Collaboration with Benu Pens == '''Myke Hurley:''' I typically don't enjoy Benu pens. I do think what you all have worked together on is really very beautiful, actually. I think it's the material and the shape. I think it's a very good looking pen. '''Brad Dowdy:''' I purposefully chose not to go full Benu, right? It was pretty clear I did not go full Benu, which if you think this pen is wild, this is like on the scale of two to 10 from one being like a basic black pen to like a 10 being like the full Benu experience. This is like a three of the Benu collection. So I love it. I've been using it. It's like this deep, deep dark purple. It's got some orange and red and like light green glitter in it and it's spectacular. And they did these great images for the pen. They threw a party for the pen, but put the little 15 anniversary and a little cupcake in there. I was very excited. So I'm excited how this turned out. '''Myke Hurley:''' Well, I know that you worked with them. What made you go with these color choices? I mean, it isn't necessarily what I would have expected. '''Brad Dowdy:''' Sure. So I kind of didn't want to do orange, right? Just because I always do it. But so like my next probably favorite color of pens or inks or things like that is dark purple, right? Like the, the deeper purple. So I was like, well, I knew I've seen a lot of Benu materials and I knew they could do that kind of base color. Well, like the deep, dark purple. And you know, it's got like different like shades and, and you know, it's a little, some of it's a little bit lighter. Some of it leans like very, very black. So I knew they could do that base. So I thought that would be easy to do something different outside of orange and then have a little bit of, you know, orange color in, in the sparkle. So it's just really just wanting to do something different. You know, I don't want to do orange all the time. You know, I like other colors as well. And so do other people. And, you know, I've got an orange pen in, in the shop right now too. And that's the, the Opus 88 halo, you know, it's back in stock now. So yeah, we don't need to do all orange all the time. Even though that kind of goes against, it goes against my existence. I like other colors too. And you know, I, again, like I do the things that I want for myself first. Right. So I wanted something a little bit different and that's what we did. And I think it came out great. '''Myke Hurley:''' It looks super good. '''Brad Dowdy:''' The hardest part, the hardest part was choosing an ink to put in there because Robert Oster fire on fire is like perfectly complimentary to this. Right. But I already have that inked up in, in, uh, my Montegrappa pen. Um, so I didn't want to go back on the orange. So I did like a, a dark magenta with a green sheen, uh, the, the diamine marine. Um, I don't know if you remember those from a few years ago, their iridescent, uh, series of inks they did with diamine. They're so very pretty. So kind of a reddish purple and green kind of an odd ink to go with an odd pen. And, uh, yeah, I'm super, super happy with it. So those are up on the site. Now I'm gonna start shipping them out tomorrow. Uh, we'll do 300 pens in total and that's it. They're not numbered or anything, but it's not just not going to be a recurring thing. It's kind of just like a one-off, but like there's a ton, like there'll be available for a while. So if you're interested, check them out. I would love for you to check it out. So it's very cool. '''Myke Hurley:''' But you're a busy boy over there. It's not what you've got going on.
