But what I didn't know and what makes me love him even further, he's a big fan of the Sailor Gentle Apricot ink, right? I didn't know this. Best orange ink ever. Yeah. What do you think about that, Myke?

'''Myke Hurley:''' I don't know that ink very well. I've heard people talk about it, but I don't know if I've ever seen it. I definitely haven't used it.

'''Joe Crace:''' Okay. I need to send you a sample because I just got a bottle in from a wonderful reader who was not using it and sent it to me because I had drained my last bottle. It's one of the only ink bottles I've drained completely probably in the past year or two. And I will send you a sample of that because I would be interested to see because I don't think it compares to Fugugaki at all. They're so, so different. Fugugaki is much darker and deeper and Apricot is lighter and is much more shading. Have you hoarded this ink or have you found a suitable replacement?

'''Brad Dowdy:''' I only have two bottles of it and I switch inks a lot. It's one thing I'm trying to get better about, just kind of consolidating my ink collection. But I think the other orange ink that I like, which is sort of comparable, it's not quite as vibrant as Yuyake by Hiroshizuku.

'''Joe Crace:''' Yeah, I just bought one of those mini bottles of it just so I can try it, but I haven't inked anything up with it. I thought that was actually closer than the Fugugaki, which is super orange, which is a great looking ink. It's just too orange for me.

'''Brad Dowdy:''' Apricot has almost a nice golden yellow hue to it. And a couple of the ones that I'd like to try, but I think ultimately might be too expensive for a good general replacement are some of the bung box orange inks.

'''Joe Crace:''' I know, I've looked at pictures of those and I'm going to look at that at DC. That's going to be high on my list. And I don't know if the Kobe inks will be there or not. They apparently have a couple of colors that are at least one color that's ballpark in the same realm. I know that would be something to look for. I think it may actually be called Apricot. Okay. You know what? I think you're right. I think you're right, actually. So, yeah, that's one to check out. But people have been on the hunt for this Apricot replacement, and it's so far been a fruitless endeavor. See what I did there?

'''Joe Crace:''' That was terrible. And we're all about terrible here. So, yeah, we could almost do a whole podcast on Sailor Apricot, but that would be awfully boring. But one of these days, someone's going to find and come up with a really good replacement. That ink just does things on the paper that no other orange inks do. And it's hard to match, which is sad that they did away with it.
