We have not gone through what we're using. We don't do that every show. Nope. Sometimes it gets a little repetitive on what we use. But this time we were asked and I was like, oh yeah, we should probably do that, huh? Yeah. So I have been very non-fountain penny lately. I don't know why. You know, it's just, you know, ebbs and flows of all the things, right? You know. I've gone through a bunch of fountain pen shows. All the fountain pens are in use, inked up, all the fun stuff. I'm in a bit of a fountain pen show lull, so I've been using non-fountain pen things. What I took, I went on vacation this weekend. I had like a long weekend at the beach with Labor Day holiday, kids out of school. So I wanted to take a few things to write with. The notebook I took, Michael, was the Pano book. And I find it interesting what you are also using today as well. I don't know if we should talk about this in conjunction, but when I saw what you put in here, I laughed when I giggled. '''Myke Hurley:''' Well, I use it every day, right? Like it's my... Yeah. It is my desk notebook and that serves two purposes. It's where I write my show notes down, but it's also where I write down quick ideas or if I need to like write something down to calculate something or whatever. If I'm sitting at my Mac, the notebook that I'm using is my Pano book because of its aspect ratio. Like I put it in landscape and it means it can sit very comfortably under my keyboard about me needing to push my keyboard further away from me. Like I've always put notebooks below my keyboard, but typically it means I then have to push my keyboard further towards my Mac, right? Because there aren't notebooks really that are formatted in this way. Because I like to use something bigger on my desk. You know, I've used various larger field notes in the past. I've used like different A5 books and stuff in the past. But what I like about the Pano book is its size and shape, which makes it very versatile for me.

'''Brad Dowdy:''' Yep. So that's exactly why I took it with me knowing that I was going to have some time to do some writing, had some time to do a little bit of work. And number one, it's a, like you said, it's a great desk book, right? So when I'm sitting, like I knew I was going to be sitting at probably like a dinner table, I could spread out all my stuff. That would be a good format to go there. And it packs well on a backpack. Like if I'm taking one backpack with my laptop and a single notebook, it fits really well in there. Obviously a lot of things will fit well in there, but it's just kind of this really good, like travel with it, knowing that I'm going to be able to set it down somewhere to work on. Like if I knew I was going to be running around and, and being in all kinds of different places, you know, it wouldn't be good for that. But if I knew I was going to be sitting down like I was this weekend a lot, I thought it would be perfect. And it was. So what I used it with was the Midori MD pencil, which was given to me by Gabe Staccoli at the DC Pen Show. You know, my good friend, my good friend, Gabe, he knows who he is. And we had talked about it on a recent podcast when you were gone with Les from Comfortable Shoes Studios about how much she enjoyed this pencil. So he gave me one because I didn't have one. I really like it. It's a very minimal. It's, this is the same people who make the Travelers notebook, right? Yeah. But Travelers is their own kind of offshoot brand. Now I have to look at the, how they, they totally redid like their company structure. Okay. But it's the same

'''Myke Hurley:''' company though, right? Yeah. It's the one Midori, you know, that's kind of who they are.

'''Brad Dowdy:''' Yeah. All right. Cool, cool. Travelers, Travelers is their own brand now. Right. But this, the Midori MD is kind of the upper tier Midori products. They make really great notebooks. And they just added this pencil to the lineup. It's really good. It's not going to be like my favorite pencil, but I like, it's kind of got a satiny finish on the barrel. It's kind of a light ivory, almost looking green if you look at it in the, in the right light, but the tip holds up well, you know, the darkness of the graphite core is very nice. It's just an enjoyable pencil to use. So I wanted to do a review on that. So I've been carrying it around a bunch. And then I also took with me my retro 51 prototype, which I'll be dropping the public knowledge on here in the next few weeks. I dropped the private knowledge for the pen addict members this past weekend, but it'll release probably end of September ish, beginning of October, somewhere around there. And that's, I love, one of my favorite things about the Pano book is they built it to use with their Mark one pen. This is our friends at Studio neat. So I love the retro 51 roller ball refill that Schmidt refill on this paper. I think it works really well. So I, I tend to use a retro 51 in this notebook a lot just because it works so well. So that's what I'm using. That's kind of all I've been using for like the past five days. I think I've, I've used this exact setup. Um, the Pano book, this Midori MD pencil and a retro 51.

It's a one, there's a wonderful, wonderful ink. Like just a really great color, let alone the sparkle. And it has great sheen on it, you know, using it with a, a broad nib, like the, like I have in my Toosby Go. It's a, it is a real joy. You know, I know why people like these inks. It's because they just have that something extra to them. Um, so yeah, you know, Emerald Chivor is great. I remember we freaked out the first time

It, it's one of my favorites of all of these types of inks because it's also just, it's not just a gimmick, you know, it's not just sparkly. The, the green blue with the red sheen is really, really good. It's a very,

I think that's, that's the peak, uh, peak fancy shimmer, sheeny, all the things ink, right? Yeah. Like episode 162 is when we had Edge Eleon. Photographer to the stars. That's why he was on. He, uh, he gets to photograph.

'''Myke Hurley:''' now that I've kind of got something that I'm more comfortable to put it in, um, on, on, on a daily basis. Um, and I'm also using, cause I use two pens, right? The Sailor 1911 Tangerine with Robo Oster Orange Zest in it. That's great. I mean, this, this orange is that something special, right? So I wanted to get an ink that was a little bit more vibrant, um, than, than, uh, Fuyugaki and Orange Zest is totally that. Orange Zest has like a, it is a very deep, like blood orange color. Um, that's, that's how I'd describe it. Like that blood orange color. And so it's like, it's got a lot of red in it as well as orange. And, and that kind of fits the Tangerine for me because the Tangerine is super difficult to even work out what the color is. It's got, it's like a very strange orange that I love. And I think it's what captivates people about that pen is the vibrancy of the, uh, 1911. It really is something to see. And I think that's what, you know, endeared you to the pen. You know, you, the great review that you wrote where you're like, I don't want another sailor, but
