Franklin-Christoph is a small pen manufacturer in the US. They have a line of fountain pens, rollerballs, and ballpoint pens. Franklin-Christoph manufacturers a line of fountain pen inks, available in 1oz or 2oz bottles. They also have their own notebooks and notepads, along with pen cases. They also produce watches.

Franklin-Christoph's fountain pen line are all made from acrylic blanks turned on a CNC lathe. Their pens are very popular in the Antique Glass ("coke bottle") finish, and Ice finish. They all use German made JOWO nibs, in either #5 or #6 size, depending on the pen. Franklin-Christoph is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get a Mike Masuyama ground nib. Nibs are available in both high-performance steel and gold, in a multitude of sizes, including SIG (Stub Italic Gradient) nibs ground by Audrey Matteson, their in-house nibmeister.

====Model 66 Stabilis====
The Model 66 Stabilis (often called the 66) is a desk pen. A long tapered barrel with a clipless cap, the 66 doesn't fit in a pocket very well for daily carry. The 66 takes a #6 nib, and can be used with a cartridge/converter, or sealed with silicon grease, and eyedroppered with a large 4mL+ ink capacity. There is a very small step where the barrel and section meet, but no threads to fall under your thumb, as the 66 has block threads at the very front of the section, making it a comfortable pen to use. The cap is quick to screw and unscrew because of the block threads.

Karas Kustoms is a machine shop in Mesa, AZ. Originally machining hot rod parts, but in 2011 they created a [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/karaskustoms/render-k-a-custom-machined-pen/description Kickstarter] for the [[Karas Pen Co Render K|Render K]], a machined pen that takes multiple different refills. Since then they've introduced several different pens, including some special/limited edition models.

===Bolt===
The [[Karas Pen Co Bolt|Bolt]] is a machined bolt action rollerball pen. It is available in aluminum, brass, or copper. There are two sizes of the Bolt, a version for Parker sized refills, or a longer version that can fit Pilot G2 style refills.

===EDK===
The [[Karas Pen Co EDK|EDK]] is a smaller, compact rollerball "clicky" pen. Available in mix and match aluminum, copper or brass, meaning you can select the material for the upper or lower of the pen. It uses Parker style refills. The design of the EDK features rings on the grip section, and knurling at the back of the pen near the [[knock]].

===INK===
The [[Karas Pen Co INK|INK]] is the largest pen available from Karas. It is a machined pen, available in aluminum, brass, or copper. The aluminum comes either raw, or anodized in several colors, and can also be stonewashed. The brass and copper models are left raw to patina as it ages. There is also the option of getting the INK in either clipped or clippless versions. The INK is available as a fountain pen, using [[Bock]] #6 nibs, or as a rollerball compatible with [[Pilot G2]] cartridges or [[Parker]] ballpoint refills. The grip is interchangable between the fountain pen and rollerball models, and is available a few different finishes/materials.

===K Series===
The K series pens are compact machined pens, available as the [[Karas Pen Co Fountain K|Fountain K]], the fountain pen, or the [[Karas Pen Co Render K|Render K]], the rollerball. It comes in three sizes, the standard, the mini, which is a short, pocket sized pen, or the Bar Stock, which is similar to the standard model, but the barrel is not tapered down. Like the INK, it is available in aluminum, brass, and copper. The Barstock version is also available in other materials; [[Delrin]], and Phenolic([[Micarta]]) have both been used. The Fountain K uses a [[Bock]] #5 nib, and the rollerball version takes [[Pilot G2]] cartridges or [[Parker]] ballpoint refills, although the mini version only fits the Parker style refills.

===Decograph===
On May 24, 2017 the Karas Kustoms Instagram feed started to tease the release of a 'signature pen line'<ref>First teaser Instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/BUfHRogF7Eu/</ref>. Following the initial teaser image, other product shots and a wireframe view of the pen were teased on various social media platforms ahead of the official announcement.

The Decograph was released to Coin Club Members on August 31, 2017, and to the public on September 15, 2017. Originally available in only black, a semi-transparent emerald green version was available soon afterwards. The Decograph takes a #6 [[Bock]] nib, and is made from thermoplastic and featured machined aluminum accents. The clip, cap finial, and barrel finally are all machined from solid 6061 aluminum.

===Retrakt===
The [[Karas Pen Co Retrakt|Retrakt]] is a two toned aluminum retractable pen. It uses either a Pilot G2 refill, or a Parker ballpoint style refill. Available in several colors, it features a clip, and a schmidt click mechanism.

Karas Kustoms has released special editions of their products, including custom partnerships with other companies, limited edition colorways and material combinations, as well as small batch creations to test new colors and designs. ==Pen Holders==
Karas Kustoms has worked with [[Mike Dudek]] of [[Dudek Modern Goods]] and introduced a machined version of the [[Dudek Modern Goods Cube|Cube]]. The Cube is machined out of a solid block of either aluminum or brass, and [[delrin]] inserts are pressed into the metal to protect your pens from rubbing against the pen holes. Originally the Cube was available as only a 9 pen holder, but recently they've introduced a 6 pen/business card holder, and a 3 pen and notebook holder.

==Karas Pen Club Coin==
In July 2017, Karas Kustoms released a limited edition "pen club coin" as a sort of membership. Holders of this coin would be able to present it to a Karas Kustoms official table or employee and able to obtain special swag. I thought it may be helpful to spin out the transcript pages as their own page per episode. My thinking was that the transcripts wouldn't completely fill up the episode pages, and so that we can do transcript-specific notes, edits, and links.

Franklin-Christoph is a small pen manufacturer in the US. They have a line fountain pens, roller balls, and ball point pens. Franklin-Christoph manufacturers a line of fountain pen inks, available in 2oz bottles. They also have their own notebooks and notepads, along with pen cases.

===Fountain Pens===
Franklin-Christophs fountain pen line are all made from acrylic blanks turned on a CNC lathe. Their pens are very popular in the Antique Glass ("coke bottle") finish, and Ice finish. They all use German made JOWO nibs, in either #5 or #6 size, depending on the pen. Franklin-Christoph is one of the easiest and cheapest ways to get a Mike Masuyama ground nib. Nibs are available in both steel and gold, in a multitude of sizes.

====Model 66 Stabilis====
The Model 66 Stabilis (often called the 66) is a desk pen. A long tapered barrel with a clipless cap, the 66 doesn't fit in a pocket very well for daily carry. The 66 takes a #6 nib, and can be used with a cartridge/converter, or sealed with silicon grease, and eyedroppered with a large 4mL+ ink capacity. There is a very small step where the barrel and section meet, but no threads to fall under your thumb, the 66 has block threads at the very front of the section, making it a comfortable pen to use. The cap is quick to screw and unscrew because of the block threads.

A collaboration with Mike Dudek of Dudek Modern Goods, the Idea Dock was first released in 2014 as a combination note card holder and pen rest. It also featured a thin cut out along the top front where a single note card could be displayed.

At the 2017 Atlanta Pen Show, version 2 of the Idea Dock was released featuring significant design changes. Instead of the single horizontal pen rest, there were now five vertical pen slots. Nock Co. is a manufacturer company based in Georgia, USA, with a focus on cases and bags for stationery. It was founded by Brad Dowdy, of Pen Addict fame, and seamster Jeffrey Bruckwicki. As relayed on their history page, the duo met for the first time on August 4, 2013, and their business was born two weeks later, on August 18<ref>http://nockco.com/history</ref>.

On September 30 of that year, a Kickstarter campaign was launched to help fund the launching of their original product line of six types of cases. On October 30, the campaign was successfully funded at $78,662 -- well over their goal of $5,000 -- between 2,066 backers <ref>https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/637878316/nock-co-pen-cases-hand-made-in-the-usa/description</ref>.

Nock Co.'s case products have thus far been named after geography specific to Georgia, USA, ranging from lakes to mountains, with one exception: the [[Karas Kustoms]] collaboration was named after the Superstition Mountains in Arizona.

=Products=
Dowdy and Bruckwicki as founders and creators have very high standards of their own products, and are proud of their American-made aspect. When production of the cases grew to a scale that necessitated a third-party, the duo had a high bar, and kept producing their own cases until an undisclosed, American-based factory fit their standards.

When designing products, Bruckwicki will often take an idea he and Dowdy had talked about, and sit down with some chalk and fabric to rough out designs. As mentioned in their blog, Bruckwicki presented Dowdy an array of prototypes only two weeks after the pair had sat down to discuss product ideas in August 2013<ref>http://nockco.com/blog/2013/8/19/prototyping-has-begun</ref>.

Bruckwicki's experience as a seamster and eye for design has allowed the company to quickly iterate through prototypes, playtest and use them, and tweak until a satisfactory design is finalized.

The [[TWSBI] Eco is TWSBI's cheapest pen to date. 'Eco' for Economical. The Eco is piston filler made from molded plastic, and features a clear demonstrator body. The section and body are molded together as one piece, resulting in a stronger pen than the [[TWSBI Diamond 580]]. This also means that the easily swapped nibs from the 580 are not available with the Eco. There is a plastic feed, and the steel nibs are available in XF, F, M, B, and a 1.1 stub. The body of the pen is cylindrical, with a small step to the section. The section is round, but at the end of the section it is slightly tapered to fit a tripod grip. Both the cap and piston knob are faceted.

The Eco does post, there is an [[o-ring]] between the piston knob and barrel and the cap securely posts on the o-ring. The cap is the only piece with trim, the clip and cap band are both polished steel, with the cap band having TWSBI engraved on the front under the clip, and ECO, Taiwan on the back side.

Karas Kustoms is a machine shop in Mesa, AZ. Originally machining hot rod parts, but in 2011 they created a [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/karaskustoms/render-k-a-custom-machined-pen/description Kickstarter] for the [[Karas Pen Co Render K|Render K]], a machined pen that takes multiple different refills. Since then they've introduced several different pens, including some special/limited edition models.

==Pens==
===Bolt===
The [[Karas Pen Co Bolt|Bolt]] is a machined bolt action rollerball pen. It is available in aluminum, brass, or copper. There are two sizes of the Bolt, a version for Parker sized refills, or a longer version that can fit Pilot G2 style refills.

===EDK===
The [[Karas Pen Co EDK|EDK]] is a smaller, compact rollerball "clicky" pen. Available in mix and match aluminum, copper or brass, meaning you can select the material for the upper or lower of the pen. It uses Parker style refills. The design of the EDK features rings on the grip section, and knurling at the back of the pen near the [[knock]].

===INK===
The [[Karas Pen Co INK|INK]] is the largest pen available from Karas. It is a machined pen, available in aluminum, brass, or copper. The aluminum comes either raw, or anodized in several colors, and can also be stonewashed. The brass and copper models are left raw to patina as it ages. There is also the option of getting the INK in either clipped or clippless versions. The INK is available as a fountain pen, using [[Bock]] #6 nibs, or as a rollerball compatible with [[Pilot G2]] cartridges or [[Parker]] ballpoint refills. The grip is interchangable between the fountain pen and rollerball models, and is available a few different finishes/materials.

===K Series===
The K series pens are compact machined pens, available as the [[Karas Pen Co Fountain K|Fountain K]], the fountain pen, or the [[Karas Pen Co Render K|Render K]], the rollerball. It comes in three sizes, the standard, the mini, which is a short, pocket sized pen, or the Bar Stock, which is similar to the standard model, but the barrel is not tapered down. Like the INK, it is available in aluminum, brass, and copper. The Barstock version is also available in other materials; [[Delrin]], and Phenolic([[Micarta]]) have both been used. The Fountain K uses a [[Bock]] #5 nib, and the rollerball version takes [[Pilot G2]] cartridges or [[Parker]] ballpoint refills, although the mini version only fits the Parker style refills.

===Decograph===
On May 24, 2017 the Karas Kustoms Instagram feed started to tease the release of a 'signature pen line'<ref>First teaser Instagram post https://www.instagram.com/p/BUfHRogF7Eu/</ref>. Following the initial teaser image, other product shots and a wireframe view of the pen were teased on various social media platforms ahead of the official announcement.

The Decograph was released to Coin Club Members on August 31, 2017, and to the public on September 15, 2017. Originally available in only black, a semi-transparent emerald green version was available soon afterwards. The Decograph takes a #6 [[Bock]] nib, and is made from thermoplastic and featured machined aluminum accents. The clip, cap finial, and barrel finally are all machined from solid 6061 aluminum.

==Limited Releases==
Karas Kustoms has released special editions of their products, including custom partnerships with other companies, limited edition colorways and material combinations, as well as small batch creations to test new colors and designs. ==Pen Holders==
Karas Kustoms has worked with [[Mike Dudek]] of [[Dudek Modern Goods]] and introduced a machined version of the [[Dudek Modern Goods Cube|Cube]]. The Cube is machined out of a solid block of either aluminum or brass, and [[delrin]] inserts are pressed into the metal to protect your pens from rubbing against the pen holes. Originally the Cube was available as only a 9 pen holder, but recently they've introduced a 6 pen/business card holder, and a 3 pen and notebook holder.

==Karas Pen Club Coin==
In July 2017, Karas Kustoms released a limited edition "pen club coin" as a sort of membership. Holders of this coin would be able to present it to a Karas Kustoms official table or employee and able to obtain special swag.
